Privacy Policy

In recognition of the importance of protection of personal information, IHI Americas, Inc. (“IAI”) provides this privacy policy to inform you of how we collect, use and share information we collect on our website https://ihi-americas.com/ or directly from you through other online or in-person interactions as of the effective date posted above.  By using our website or otherwise submitting information to us online or directly via other interactions (such as in-person) you agree that we may use and disclose your information according to the terms of this Policy.

1. Collection of Personal Information

IAI may collect the following categories of personal information:  

Information you provide to IAI. We collect personal data or information you provide to us when visiting our web site or otherwise submitting information to us online or directly via other interactions (such as in-person) that may include: 

  • Business and personal contact information such as your name, company name, address, e-mail address, telephone number; 
  • Profile information, such as your username and password that you may set to establish an online account with us, your photograph, interests, education, age, travel history, and preferences; 
  • Registration information, such as information that may be related to a service, an account or an event you register for; 
  • Feedback or correspondence, such as information you provide when you contact us with questions, feedback, or otherwise correspond with us online;
  • Usage information, such as information about how you use the website and interact with us, including information associated with any content you upload to the websites or otherwise submit to us, and information you provide when you use any interactive features of the website; 
  • Marketing information, such as your preferences for receiving communications about our activities, events, and publications, and details about how you engage with our communications; and
  • Other information that we may collect that is not specifically listed here but that we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

Automatic data collection. We, our service providers, and our business partners may automatically log information about you, your computer or mobile device, and your interaction over time with the website, our communications and other online services, such as: 

  • Device data, such as your computer or mobile device’s operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, browser type, screen resolution, RAM and disk size, CPU usage, device type (e.g., phone, tablet), IP address, unique identifiers (including identifiers used for advertising purposes), language settings, mobile device carrier, radio/network information (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE, 3G), and general location information such as city, state or geographic area.  Online activity data, such as pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page or screen, the website you visited before browsing to the website, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times and duration of access, and whether you have opened our emails or clicked links within them.  
  • Communication interaction data such as your interactions with our email, text or other communications (e.g., whether you open and/or forward emails) – we may do this through use of pixel tags (which are also known as clear GIFs), which may be embedded invisibly in our emails. 

2.  How We Use Your Information? 

IAI will use your personal information for our general business purposes including:

  • To provide our products and services.
  • To provide information or make proposals regarding our or our affiliates’ products and services.
  • For marketing and advertising purpose. 
  • To improve our products and services.
  • To respond to your inquiries.
  • To administer our relationship with you and/or your organization. 
  • Compliance and protection of our and others’ interests.
  • To create aggregated, de-identified and/or anonymized data. 
  • Any other purposes necessary to operate our business. 

3. How We Share Personal Information 

We may share your personal information with the following parties and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, in other applicable notices, or at the time of collection: 

  • Affiliates. We may disclose and exchange your personal information with our group companies including those in different countries. We may disclose aggregated (non-personal) information to our group companies without restriction.
  • Service Providers. We may disclose and exchange your personal information with third party service providers, sales representatives, agents, and distributors to perform their service or works for us including those in different countries. Moreover, we rely on various third-party service companies to provide certain services (e.g., shipping, credit card billing) for which it may be necessary to provide your personal information. 
  • Business Partners. We may sometimes share your personal information with partners or enable partners to collect information via our website. These entities may have their own privacy practices.   • Professional Advisors. We may disclose your personal information to professional advisors such as lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us. 
  • Law Enforcement and Other Regulatory Bodies. We may also disclose and exchange your personal information with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies and governmental agencies including law enforcement and other public authorities, which may include such authorities outside your country of residence when we are legally required with or without prior notice to you.
  • For Compliance, Fraud Prevention and Safety. We may disclose your personal information to public and private bodies for compliance, fraud prevention and safety purposes as described in the How we use your information section above.
  • With Consent. We may make disclosures of your personal information with your affirmative consent. 
    Business Transfers. We may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of our business or assets, including your personal information, in connection with a business transaction (or a potential business transaction) such as a corporate divestiture, merger, consolidation, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or in the event of bankruptcy or dissolution. 

We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

4.Security Measures

  • We employ a number of technical, organizational and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, security risk is inherent in all internet and information technologies and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. 

5.Cookies and Tracking

  • IAI may use cookies and similar technology to collect aggregate (non-personal) information about website usage by all of our website visitors. Some cookies expire when you close your browser and others persist until you delete them. More information is available at www.allaboutcookies.org
  • We may allow third parties such as analytics providers to collect information about a consumer’s online activities over time and across different websites when he or she uses our website. IAI uses Google Analytics, which is an analysis tool provided by Google Inc., on its website in order to analyze usage of the website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect data regarding access to its website, but does not collect any data that would enable individuals to be identified.   • Some Internet browsers may be configured to send “Do Not Track” signals to the online services that you visit. We currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” please visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.

7. Accessing Your Personal Information, Choices, Data Retention

  • You may update, amend or delete  your personal information by contacting us here.
    You will be required to present your identity verification documents to IAI as a proof of your identity when you make any request.
  • You may choose not to receive emails from us by “unsubscribing” using the instructions in any email you receive from us.  This will not stop us from sending emails about your account or your transactions with us.
  • We will store your Personal Information, in a form which permits us to identify you, for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed.  We may retain and use your Personal Information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements and rights, or if it is not technically reasonably feasible to remove it.

8. Notice to International Visitors

  • Our website is maintained on servers located in the United States, and personal information submitted is stored on our servers in the United States and may be transferred to locations outside of the United States, including, but not limited to, Japan.  If you are visiting our website from outside the United States, please be advised that your information may be transferred to the United States or other locations, including, but not limited to, Japan, where privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your state, province, or country.  

9. Children

  • Our website is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian of a child from whom you believe we have collected personal information in a manner prohibited by law, please contact us. If we learn that we have collected personal information through our website from a child without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian as required by law, we will comply with applicable legal requirements to delete the information

  •  If you are a California resident, you may have rights different from and/or in addition to those set forth in this Privacy Policy with respect to your Personal Information.  If you are a California resident, please read our California Consumer Privacy Act Notice here to understand your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

11. Notice to Nevada Residents 

  • We do not transfer personal information for monetary consideration. If you would like to tell us not to sell your information in the future, please email us at “iai-privacy@ihi-g.com” with your name, postal address, telephone number and email address with “Nevada do not sell” in the subject line.

12. Changes to this Policy

  • IAI may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time.  
  • The Privacy Policy in effect at the time you use our website or otherwise submit information to us through the website or directly via other interactions (such as in-person) governs how we may use your information.  
  • If we make material changes, we will post the revised version of this Privacy Policy and the revised effective date on this website.  Please check back here from time to time to review any changes.
